Flexural Strength (or Modulus of Rupture) is a critical mechanical property that measures a marble’s ability to resist deformation under a bending load. While marble, a metamorphosed Crystal Calcite (CaCO3), is famous for its compressive strength, its flexural strength determines how it will perform when used as a “spanning” element—such as in vanity tops, stair treads, or overhanging kitchen islands.
