Surface Finishing Options

• Filled & Honed: The natural pits of the stone are filled with a matching color resin or cement, and the surface is ground to a smooth, matte finish. Ideal for easily cleanable floors and backsplashes.

• Unfilled & Tumbled: The natural pits remain open, and the stone is tumbled to create a beautifully rustic, weathered look with soft, rounded edges.

• Polished (Filled): The pits are filled and the surface is buffed to a high gloss to saturate the deep chocolate tones.

Installation & Maintenance Guidelines

• Adhesives & Grout: Use high-quality, polymer-modified thin-set mortars. Crucial Note for Unfilled Travertine: If you install unfilled Noche Travertine mosaics, the grouting process will naturally fill the open pits on the surface of the stone with your chosen grout color, which can be used to create striking contrasting details or seamless blending.

• Sealing: Travertine is a porous material. It is highly recommended to apply a premium penetrating sealer (hydrophobic/oleophobic) before grouting (to prevent grout haze and pigment absorption) and after installation to prevent oil and water-based staining.

• Cleaning: Use pH-neutral stone cleaners only. Strictly avoid acidic solutions (vinegar, lemon) or abrasive pads which will etch the calcium carbonate structure.
